When you raise them on low-protein low-vitamin regimen they never become full-grown. That (and regular pruning) helps to make them bonsai.

Neither really talks, or even makes syllables. Corrin usually just rams his head against your hand ("I want my neck scratched/head petted NOW.") while Masey meows (for attention/petting/treats). Corrin will sort of chirp, but only at the birds, and I don't think they buy it (no trilling, and the chirping is sort of low). The baby has their conversational skills, but remarkably enough (she can't pet them yet), they seem uninterested.

One of mine chirps and trills his Rs. He also talks back to you--in discrete syllables. It's soooo cute!

Me: Why were you clawing at the carpet outside the baby's room?
Corrin: Meow?
Me: The door is closed for a reason, you know.
Corrin: Meow?
Me: You're not supposed to do that or you'll get wet,
Corrin: Meow?

See? It worked like a charm. Next I'll get him to confess to the Lindbergh kidnapping (he was, what -78 at the time? but I can get him to talk).

Occasionally, the cats chirp like birds, but I don't think the birds are terribly convinced.
