ACIE a much better RSS feed
October 15th, 2008 by excimerI reuse jokes mostly cause I’m awesome.
Christian over at Organic Chemistry Blog made a much, much nicer RSS feed for Angewandte Chemie Int. Ed., complete with graphical abstracts, author names, and, of course, the puns! You should check it out, it is far superior to Wiley’s. Excellent work, Christian!
Here is a link to his RSS feed.
On a tangentially-related note, I wish there were an easy fix for RSC journals. They don’t bother putting up PDFs of the advance articles, which is really annoying because I like reading them as soon as they come out (read: I’m impatient). I can easily save a PDF in my little folder of “stuff I’m gonna reference later”…but it’s a pain in the ass to save the HTML article for quick future access.
Too bad. There’s a lot of cool stuff that gets published in J Materials Chem.
Yeah, I don’t know why they do that. They do it with some ChemComm articles too and it’s really annoying. How hard is it to make the stupid PDF? Especially when the authors have to format it themselves.
It’s not just some, it’s pretty much all their ASAP articles. laaame! makes me less likely to read their journals.
I don’t know if this will do what you want, but if you use Firefox, there is a PDF Download addon option that will convert any HTML page to PDF. Of course, that’s no substitute for having the article in PDF format in the first place.

If you have a Mac (and psi*psi does woot), just go to print -> Save as PDF
Seriously?! Cool.
once again, the party dies when i come back. figures.
Kittens!
That is all.
Good night, bloggers =)
